THE EFFECT OF INNOVATION AND LEARNING ORIENTATION ON SME’S BUSINESS PERFORMANCE (STUDY AT CREATIVE INDUSTRY, CRAFT SUB-SECTOR IN WEST NUSA TENGGARA)

Abstract

The purpose of this study were  to know (1) the effect of innovation and learning orientation on SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector in West Nusa Tenggara simultaneously, (2) the effect of innovation and learning orientation on SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector in West Nusa Tenggara partially, (3) the dominant variable that influence SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector in West Nusa Tenggara. This study was explanatory research. Population in this study was all Creative Industries SMEs at creative industry, craft sub-sector in West Nusa Tenggara numbering to 172 firms and the samples were obtained by purpossive sampling of 120 firms. Data collection methods used were questionnaire and documentation from primary and secondary data. The analysis method used was multiple linear regression. The study results show that (1) there is positive and significant influence of innovation and learning orientation on SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector simultaneously, (2) there is positive and significant influence of innovation and learning orientation on SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector partially, and (3) the learning orientation is the dominant variable that influence SME’s business performance at creative industry, craft sub-sector in West Nusa Tenggara.
